What is the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP)?

Article content

The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) connects federal agencies with college students and recent graduates with disabilities, including veterans, who are eligible for non-competitive Schedule A hiring. Any agency may use this talent program to recruit for internships and permanent or term jobs.

Who are the WRP job seekers?

The WRP partners with more than 500 accredited colleges and universities nationwide to recruit college students and recent graduates with disabilities looking for federal jobs, including internships or permanent jobs.

When are job seekers available to search for? When can I search for new job seekers?

The WRP invites college students and recent graduates to apply each year. New groups of job seekers are released each December.

How can I search and find job seekers in the WRP?

  1. Sign in to the Agency Talent Portal.
  2. Go to Talent search.
  3. Select Talent programs.
  4. Select the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP).

You can search for job seekers by keyword or location and narrow your results down with filters.

How to search and find job seekers in the WRP?

Use the Keywords field to search by skill, job seeker name, school, major or other terms in the job seekers’ resumes. Use the Location field to filter by city, state, zip code or country for Current location. For Desired location, you can search by state.

Choose Current or Desired location below the location field. Use Current to find job seekers who already live near your work site. Use Desired to find job seekers open to working in or relocating to specific states.

How to use search filters

Use the filter buttons above the job seeker list to narrow your results:

  • Job type—Filter by internship type (spring, summer or fall) or long-term/permanent employment.
  • Job preference—Filter by the career or job interests job seekers selected.
  • Degree—Filter by the job seeker's degree or education.
  • Graduation date—Filter by the job seeker's expected or actual graduation date.
  • Work site—Filter on-site, remote or hybrid work preferences or by those interested in working outside the U.S.
  • Experience years—Filter by years of work experience.
  • Federal experience—Filter by whether the job seeker has prior federal work experience.
  • Clearance—Filter by currently held or previously held security clearance.

How to sort and bookmark job seekers

We sort results by Relevance. Change to sort by Last updated to see job seekers who recently updated their application. To bookmark a job seeker, select the star on the right side of their card in the search results. Check Bookmarked job seekers to view only job seekers you have starred.

What information will I see for each job seeker?

Each job seeker listing in the search results shows:

  • Graduation date
  • Degree
  • Job preferences
  • Preferred job types
  • Career interest statement

What’s in the job seeker’s profile?

Select a job seeker's name from the list to open their resume and full profile. Each profile includes the following tabs:

  • Recent academic information—School, major, minor, degree type, GPA, expected or actual graduation date and technical skills.
  • Work history—Any previous work experience, including federal jobs.
  • Job preferences—Career interests and job types the job seeker is interested in.
  • Location preferences—Where the job seeker lives and where they are willing to work.
  • Hiring paths—Any special hiring authorities or hiring paths the job seeker may fall under, like veterans, Native Americans or Peace Corps or AmeriCorps Vista.

How do I email job seekers?

After you search, select Email all candidates at the top of the list. To email a small group of job seekers, select the checkboxes on the job seeker cards, then choose Email selected candidates. The job seekers’ email addresses will pre-populate in your default email client.

To email one job seeker, you can select the checkbox on their job seeker card to email them or open their profile and select the job seeker’s email.

What happens after you contact a job seeker?

Hiring takes place outside of ATP. When you make an offer and the job seeker accepts, report your hire to WRP program staff by emailing wrp@dol.gov and ask the job seeker to update their hiring information with the WRP in USAJOBS. This helps the program track placement outcomes.
